From Skipper & Skeeto

When the games first released in Germany, they were sold under the WinLernen brand without the names of the protagonists on the box cover. When listening carefully, the narrator says "Max & Mücke" in the first game, the name "Mario" was introduced in a short video that can be found in the start menu folder of the second game. Maximilian or short Max was one of the most popular names in the 1990s.[1] Mücke means mosquito, the reason why it got changed to Mario is unknown.

With the start of the TV series, the names got exchanged for the English ones, with a small twist to make the German pronunciation easier. The English double e is spoken the same as the German i, therefore the German title got changed to Skipper & Skito.

All German releases were translated and published by bhv.
