Skipper & Skeeto (English)

Skipper & Skeeto is the English title of the franchise. It is unclear why they got the names they got, but Skeeto it most like slang for mosquito and Skipper fits well with that name. Skipper is however by far not as popular a name as for instance Magnus in the nordic countries^[1].

↑ It's hard to find any good statistics about this, but according to Office for National Statistics, less than three babies has been named Skipper (and Skeeto for that sake) in England and Wales each year from 1996 to 2015 - source. In the United States, there's around a thousand named Skipper as first name (source) and around 12.000 as last name (source).
